CKT-UTAS STAFF SCHOOLED ON GRANTSMANSHIP

Staff especially senior members (teaching), of the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences have been challenged to embrace the concept of grantsmanship as a viable option for funding research activities so as to remain relevant in a highly competitive higher education environment. This was contained in remarks made by the Pro Vice-Chancellor of C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Professor Albert Luguterah at a Day’s Grants and Grantsmanship Capacity Building Seminar held for staff of CKT-UTAS.

The highly patronized event attracted top-notch Resource Persons, including the foundation Chairman of the Governing Council of CKT-UTAS, who also doubles as the foundation Director of The West Africa Centre for Cell Biology of Infections Pathogens (WACCBIP), Professor Gordon Awandare.

In his welcome remarks, the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research, Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu noted that the Seminar was part of several opportunities or avenues earmarked by the School to equip staff, especially senior members of CKT-UTAS with the requisite skills and strategies for winning grants. He commended the resource persons, especially the Council Chairman for taking time off their busy schedules to facilitate the training sessions.

Participants were schooled on the techniques of writing a winning proposal, post-award management and donor relations, budget architecture of grants application, opportunities for collaboration and grants administration and reporting, but to mention a few.

The School of Graduate Studies and Research presented citations to all the Resource Persons in recognition of their distinguished service in higher education management, research, and grantsmanship.
