CKT-UTAS Makes Maiden Appearance At Ghana Higher Education Fair

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, the 16th Edition of the Ghana Higher Education Fair has taken place across the country. Organised by I-Texon Ghana Limited, the Fair aims among other things to attain an informed student body, sure of higher education options and possibilities.

In response to an invitation to participate in the Fair, the Management of CKT-UTAS sponsored a 3-member team to represent the University. The Team participated in four regional exhibitions in Tamale, Kumasi, Koforidua and Cape Coast.

The Tamale event which took place at Tamale Senior High School from Monday 27th to Tuesday 28th March 2023, attracted 823 participants drawn from 9 Senior High Schools in the Northern Region, while 1,292 students, drawn from 19 Senior High Schools participated in the Kumasi event.

 At Wesley Girls Senior High School in Cape Coast, 16 Senior High Schools participated in the Fair. The total number of student participants stood at 1,517.  Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital recorded 2,409 participants drawn from 33 Senior High Schools, representing the highest of the four centers.

A good number of tertiary institutions (both private and public) seized the opportunity to woo students to choose their respective institutions for further studies. The Team took the opportunity to outline programmes on offer, the entry requirements, and the job opportunities that goes with the various programmes.

The current free online application policy and the Mr. Eazi Scholarship scheme operated by CKT-UTAS made the latter unique and resonated with the expectations of the participants.

The CKT-UTAS Team comprised Mr. Abdul-Majeed Yusssif, Assistant Registrar, University Relations Office, (Team Lead); Dr. Jonas Bugase, Senior Lecturer and Pseudo-alumnus, and Ms. Flavia Awandare, Junior Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs Office.
